Prairie Spirit Ride Reports
Planning a ride can be a difficult business. Knowing where to get water, food, knowing where to find a bed for the night, or just finding out what sights to make sure not to miss. Often it is easier to plan a ride when you have been able to read about other peoples experiences. Users of this site have logged countless hours going up and down the Prairie Spirit, and occasionally they will write up a ride report of that days particular experience. This page collects all the ride reports from our forums in once place for easier reference.
So, sit back and read over some reports. Whether you are planning an upcoming ride or just trying to get through the winter, we hope that you find these reports helpful.
Ottawa to Garnett & back; spring 2013
View thread.JD_Shawnee![]() Last Updated: 2013-05-16 05:41:55 | Got off to a 7am start Tues (7th). The heavy fog eventually lifted w/o aid from a breeze. A perfect day for trail riding. No wind. More notably, the trail’s bogs and creeks now have splashing riffling water in them. Good to hear that sweet noise again. |
Riding in the heat
View thread.twmiller![]() Last Updated: 2012-07-16 07:46:57 | Is anyone riding the trails in this heat? We are still having temps over 100 everyday in Paola. I need to get out and start riding but being out of shape and in my 50s I dont want to have a heat stroke. Is anyone else getting sick of this heat or is it just me. |
